Chapter 13
Okay,  seriously, how did we get here ? I have to admit I'm hitting a bit of Writer's Block...I know what I want to write, but having a hard time translating it. I kind of figure that for whatever reason I write better after posting a chapter, so here we are.

 I don't have much to blog about so I'm just going to get to it ! Besides there are a few "reveals" coming up so I don't want to confuse anything by mentioning one to early. I almost did it in the last comment section.

HMLIS Updates

Uh, you guys. After Lile released NAF (which I've read three times because of reasons...mostly my smartness), I just wanted to show and tell my new thing too, but I'm trying to pace myself and get like half of it serial-shaped. I'm also still discovering exactly who may characters are...if they even have the right names...but we're getting there.

I have about 4 complete chapters and last week I had this 'epiphany' that I needed to just re-write the whole thing from memory in third person....I got about half a page in before I did a U-turn. I think I want to do something in third person, but it won't be this.

Vice Chapter 12

Not much to blog about lately. In fact, now that I think about it... my TDOSH was pretty much an answer to a question someone had at the forums about Sundays. I think the question was asking what my favorite part was.

So, I think  we need a recap:

 Last time we saw Alan, he'd come off the Morrissey hit (which wasn't a hit since they let Morrisey liv), bombs exploded, a war started, Alan did chrome to impress a girl and nearly killed himself, was forced to join the cartel to pay off the doctor bill...oh and he realizes Sara's teenage son Luce doesn't have a bellybutton and is a robot, which is exactly the kind of thing the got Sara's husband killed...also apparently Jean used to work for Tempus....

But, Alan can't t think too hard about any of that since Rayne has moved them all to Treasure Island where Rayne and Sara  have cooked up a mysterious new plan to make money.... Vice Chapter 12

HMLIS Update

I'm at this kind of odd place in HMLIS where One Direction is writing the scenes for me. So....thank you Spotify ? I have to say if I could I would hold HMLIS off for a year just so I could tinker with it and mess with it, but I won't...probably. Anyway, I think I'll post an update on it every now and then.

The Vault
So, Lile opened her vault and I pretty much stopped working because she had won the serial writing internet with those two stories ! They were both just so true to form, beautiful and showed how well she knew her characters. I mean who needs full length serials if we could just keep getting those ? *hint hint* #thingsthatiwant

Anyway It made me think about if I had a vault and I kinda, sorta do. I mean it's a small vault. One of the things in my vault is getting worked into Vice, and the other item is an  "alternate scene" from Vice where Morrissey gets killed and I may still have that scene lying around.

However, the other two items in my vault are from En Moritas. The pieces are short stories about character deaths and I recently went back to them and they are just such a drag and sad, so IDK if I will post them. I mean reading them just made me sad and I'm iffy about posting them  since they aren't technically canon anymore. I'll think about doing it, but not until I finish with Vice.

HMLIS Update

Hmm, I've hit a weird writer's block with HMLIS and Chapter 14 of Vice. I can only get a few words out a day, but it's going along. I'm thinking of doing a thing with HMLIS...we will see.

It's all weird, I'm having doubts about a side character/plot which is no where near central to HMLIS, but it's vexing me.

The Story I Wish I Could Have Written
There are a lot of amazing stories out there and as a writer I get all grabby hands. But there is a film coming out that has kind of a cyberpunk-ish storyline I really WISH I could have written.

It's the Spike Jonze movie, Her, where Joaquin Phoenix falls in live with an Artificial Intelligence Operating System voiced by Scarlet Johannsen.   I just saw the trailer and thought that is such a cyberpunk story even if it isn't all Crapsackworld, gangsters and crime. Here is the TV spot:

While I think Vice has ventured away from cyberpunk, I'm starting to see there really were two schools of cyberpunk. The more action packed Total Recall type of thing and then things like Her, which is something you'd see in a Cyberpunk short story. This whole Veritas project started out as the first kind, but has been moving towards the other kind.

And in case you were wondering, no, Siri is not pleased.

Friendly Reminder: We're in the Future

 

Ooops.

Well, I certaintly didn't intend to go into the comment section and encite mass excitement. I think I've talked about this before, but I do have UL ideas.I'm telling myself I won't write anything until HMLIS is done, I want to give this idea lots of time to sort of swim in my head. Right now I'm sort of juggling with writting a series of collected vignettes that will have a new plotline as well as retcon some of OHG. Not all of OHG, but some of it. If anything related to it comes up, I'm happy to talk about it, but don't expect anything until around April/May/June/July-ish.

CPShawna

It wasn't until after this did I realize CP Shawna could also stand for Cyberpunk Shawna ! This is especially funny to me because the file I keep all the Vice/Veritas stuff in is still call CP from when I didn't have a name for any of this. I have to say in this today's TDOSH, me and CPShawna get a little meta.

Rule of Cool

So, I had a lot of fun with this TDOSH and I may, may, MAY do one for Blessed Hearts. Only, I'd be making more fun of my consistent use of Rule of Cool. I also still have both verisons of the story up, so it would also be fun to see what changes I did make (because I surely don't remember)

It Gets Worse

So, chapter 1 is pretty tame in both content and commentary compared to what we have coming up. I hope you're ready, it only gets worse.

One of the things I found interesting about some of your comments was how some of you agree with Alan and get some of the same conclusions Alan gets later on...and that's all I'm going to say about that.

I have no clue what inspired this. I think it was Lile mentioning it at some point and me realizing I hadn't looked at it years.

While I don't have a lot of recollection about writing it, I do know I wrote it as one word document and split it into sections and chapters later. I'd really like to be able to do that again, but for now here we are. I may live to regret posting this, but here we go !  For those of you who have forgotten, Sundays is 4 parts, so this will be a quick interlude.
