Cobalt
It is springtime (although it always feels like Spring in SoCal) around the office and we are all still adjusting to our new office spaces. Erik's Birthday was this past weekend and he went back to Pennsylvania so, I had some more office space which is always nice.
Our office is right near a McDonalds so my wallet is happy I am getting 1$ coffee's instead of 3$ lattes every 2 hours. Joel did bring an espresso maker he got a while back into the office but it turns out none of us know how to use it and he ended up breaking it. But, no worries us Cobaltians are getting our caffiene fix !
Chapter 7
There is one note I want to make on Chapter 7, there really is such a thing as cremation jewelry. It's not something creepy I made up and some of it is quite nice. You can even get some for your dog's ashes.

I was concerned about Rhett and Juliana for a minute but the ending was so cute, I almost squeed ! so adorable.
ReplyDeleteIf this is really the end (oh, how you tease us) I find it so hard to believe that Juliana only has a few lines of dialogue in the entire story.

This was so . . . short. The ending reminds me a bit of IVB. Although in some fairness it's not Rhett's fault he has to leave

ReplyDeleteYou really like to tease us Shawna. I was hoping for more of a story (and honestly a little more Jennifer Caine). The age progression would have been a unique plot device.

I think this is the first chapter with no Mention of Caine. I guess that means that he is behind them now.

I had to re-rad this a few times before I was sure how I felt about it. I like the chapter (big J/R fan). Was it your plan to end it this way ?

I noticed how she calls Tessa "tess" now, I wonder if that means they have gotten closer.

endings always make me sad, it seems like everything worked out. I can see why it may have been hard to come up with a title for the story
It's a good think McDonalds is in walking distance of Cobalt.

OctoberS-- Yes, the frappes are quite a sugar rush but, I perfer my 1$ coffee.
Aym-- I have to say as a writer I like Juliana and Rhett but, as a reader I really want her to be with Sawyer.
Maylights-- I think if the story wasn't from her point of view it would be hard to believe. She has a lot of internal dialouge.
MakeMeLALA-- LOL ! I did not notice that but, that is soooo funny !
Lorrie C-- I had a feeling someone would mention that. IVB and UL2 have a lot in common that makes them seem so similar, style wise.
Trichelle-- It's interesting how most of you think this is the end. One weird thing about those necklaces is they give you a little kit so you can put the ashes in yourself.
Darcy_Lover-- All I can smell is Jill eating a Mushroom Deluxe burger from McDonalds.
Sunset-- I always knew that this would be sweeter and less heavy.
CranberriVodka-- I just googled restaurants in New London that were good for parties.
Libbie-- You can pay for a taxi with a debit card now and at this point in the story it's 2007.

VanillaBear-- Rhett getting married ? Hmm,that is so good I have no idea why I didn't think of that. Of course it would have involved rewriting the whole story. Oh well, I'm to nice to do that. At this point Alan Gray is, well . . . more on this later.

ReplyDeleteSundance_Girl-- Savannah is a southern name in general and I wanted to set the tone that Rhett was from Lousiana with is name. Now that I think about it no, none of the characters have middle names. And Rhett's parents don't have first names.
