There is an episode of Seinfield where Jerry writes a joke in the middle of the night and can't remember what it is in the mornig. I am having that moment with the blog title. I created this entry with that title weeks ago and I have no idea what the joke about it was.
I know it is a turn of the phrase Drink the Kool-Aid. . . . I have no idea what it means , maybe if I blog it will come to me.
Julianne Moore
I am sort of in love with Julianne Moore as Sara because she tends to play off the wall characters ( and lesbians). Anyway, somewhere along the line I was watching trailers of movies with my character inspirations in them and I came across the trailer for Chloe with Moore and Daydream Nation with Josh Lucas (Older Alan's inspirtation).
This is so random but, they reminded me of UL a little bit, especially Daydream Nation.
But, in my head Sara is more of the Julianne Moore in The Kids Are Alright mixed with her in Children of Men.

Okay, I may have figured out the title.
I was going to blog about how the names of any drugs in Veritas are not made up. The names and function of the drugs are from science fiction books and movies. Maybe that has to do with the title ?
No, you know what I think I know what the title refers to-- I will put it as an A/N because it has to do with the chapter.
Part 3 & 4
So, for some reason I have been feeling self-consious about posting, it is really strange and I am not asking for pity I just want to be honest. I have been holding on to these parts for quite a while and at this point they are what they are.
As I re-read and try to edit these, I find I imagine Veritas more like a comic book that exists around characters. I have such a hard time writing visuals because of that, I wish they could just be there. Any artist in the house ?
Anyway, Part 3 is really short at about 2,000 words so I put it together with Part 4. It's a little long all together so feel free to take breaks.

I get so tingly when I think an SH webserial is almost done. It was so awesome with the Mimic being human all along. So great.

ReplyDeleteI liked the ending it reminded me of something one of the characters on this new show, One Tree Hill, might say. His name is Lucas (like Josh Lucas but they are not related) and he often summarizes humanistic themes.

ReplyDeleteAt first I was like WTF ? with all the killing I was so hoping it wasn't a cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteI totally felt like this was a post-apocalyptic world and we got to see so many dimensions of it. I think the end reflected back to the idea of the Veritas.

Ashlyn-- That is the kind of environment they have been bred into with the exception of Alan but, he assimilated over time. Kris is supposed to be the opposite of that.
Bluebelle- No, I don't think he ever will be a part of the business.
The thing is when Kris gets on the plane he doesn't plan on coming back home even though he promised his mom and Twyla he would. He isn't joining the business he has just decided how much his family means to him and he isn't going to run away from them.
CranberriVodka-- No, they live above the noodle restaurant in a penthouse apartment.

Ft. Life-- That conversation they had isn't really about her looks ( I mean it is and it isn't . . .it's complicated) she is upset because she is dying.
Appletini-- No, I think they made it clear they don't talk about that. It is in the past. Also, in the Veritas universe there is 1,000 miles of desert between the East and The West so, he was in the middle of nowhere. It would be like losing someone in the Pacific Ocean between California and China.
Sunny-- No, he had nothing to do with it but, nice thought.
Calla-- Yes he made one after he took his nap but, it took a few days which is why she stays in his office. Her heart had been failing since Kris came so, he had some time but, not much.
Tabbi-- That point about her brothers was what I wanted to demonstrate in that little side story. I wanted to show that despite their differences and Luce's coldness they do love each other.
Caroline-- She was just a random character.
