I had originally wanted to shorten Juliana's name to Julie to show a growth in Sawyer and Juliana's relationship and also to help me out when typing. But then I was listening to something and I heard the name Julia and I just loved the way it sounded so, I used that as Juliana's alternate identity but more importantly it is how she ID's herself with Brad. That's why Sawyer doesn't start calling her Julia until chapter 12 when he tells her about Brad.
Now, Sawyer alternates between the three. I've been meaning to go over that for some time now.
I have a playlist with 30+ songs I use for inspiration with the exception of a few I am holding on to for future moments most of them have appeared. I am going to spend a day inventing a whole new list for my IVB web serial. I love when I hear a song that inspired me to write a scene. I'll go more into this later.

I'm glad to see that we are getting back to the "main" plot of United Light. I think the character of Sky was written nicely the way she was and I had tears when reading 18.4 with Sawyer and Juliana *tears*

I thought this was going to be like Chapter 17 but it was full of wonderful little surprises. I like how you used Sawyer's healing wounds to show growth. I love Sawyer he is no longer a jerk.

ReplyDeleteAnyway I think readers have to stop comparing Cortland and his Friends to Sawyer and Elisa becuase there is a social strata.
From what I can tell Elisa and Sawyer are paying there way through college and they are older than Cortland and friends. Meanwhile Cortland is a well-off kid who is still young so of course the responsibility level is different.
The last part of the chapter with the ask & return of the characters dialogue was nicely done. I'm a little miffed that Cortland turned out to be such a loser.

Natalie-- As far as Sky, I've known *that* girl. I would never say UL has a main plot but getting back to the more cat and mouse thing, yes.
Sinfulnight -- As far as jailtime, yes he did but, at the same time Sawyer isn't really reponsible. I'm not saying that was a conclusion to that storyline but, it can't ever really be concluded in a wrapped in a package way.

Julie R.-- I guess we do. I saw that scene like a movie in my head and in movies you can get away with having no dialouge but conveying a lot of emotion so it was a challenge.
Kandi -- Yes, it is and so is Superchick but that's all coincedental. You are right about Sawyer and Cortland they are from 2 different worlds and Cortland is having his last summer as a child before he has to be an adult.
Judith -- I don't see him as a loser. I'll just give a mini-blog. Cortland comes from a world where he *knows* that when he becomes and adult he will have certain expectations and pressures so living in the share is his one time not to do that. He did let himself develop feelings for Juliana without thinking of how he was going to end it and how it was going to hurt her. Maybe his breaking up with her was him being defensive or protecting himself from feeling anything real, I have no clue. I am not saying he was supposed to be white knight (he has many flaws) but, Cortland trying to contact her shows some regret.I will blog more about this later.
