HMLIS Updates
Uh, you guys. After Lile released NAF (which I've read three times because of reasons...mostly my smartness), I just wanted to show and tell my new thing too, but I'm trying to pace myself and get like half of it serial-shaped. I'm also still discovering exactly who may characters are...if they even have the right names...but we're getting there.
I have about 4 complete chapters and last week I had this 'epiphany' that I needed to just re-write the whole thing from memory in third person....I got about half a page in before I did a U-turn. I think I want to do something in third person, but it won't be this.
Vice Chapter 12
Not much to blog about lately. In fact, now that I think about it... my TDOSH was pretty much an answer to a question someone had at the forums about Sundays. I think the question was asking what my favorite part was.
So, I think we need a recap:
Last time we saw Alan, he'd come off the Morrissey hit (which wasn't a hit since they let Morrisey liv), bombs exploded, a war started, Alan did chrome to impress a girl and nearly killed himself, was forced to join the cartel to pay off the doctor bill...oh and he realizes Sara's teenage son Luce doesn't have a bellybutton and is a robot, which is exactly the kind of thing the got Sara's husband killed...also apparently Jean used to work for Tempus....
But, Alan can't t think too hard about any of that since Rayne has moved them all to Treasure Island where Rayne and Sara have cooked up a mysterious new plan to make money.... Vice Chapter 12

If this reveal came earlier I could have made a subtitle for this Who Is Alan Gray?

DeleteOh, I noticed Jean has purple eyes like Minnie. They seem so distant I wonder why Minnie decided to leave her brother.
ReplyDeleteThey are distant because Jean is suddenly really busy 'working' and Minnie isn't. Usually they go out together.

GRR we were so close to learning more characters keep getting cut--
ReplyDeleteI noticed that my characters cut each other off a lot, but it's not to hide something or for plot purposes. It's to show they are talking over each other.

ReplyDeleteI think Sara let Morrisey live because she got the information she needed. The Republic probably bombed the border because they were looking for Alan and I'm assuming the items from the Donation Banks are what was used to create Alan.
DeleteAll your questions will be answered and more...but, I will say the bombings have nothing to do with Alan, it's just political unrest.

DeleteI'm glad you caught this, because i could never find an "in story" way to explain this without it sounding like a teachable moment.
I feel like Alan's eyes are going to come back into this. Also WHAT HAPPENS WHEN HE CRIES ?

DeleteThe LOLA stretches from Los Angelos to Las Vegas and I did decide to make this more Las Vegas-y. The reason I did this was because it had more reference points for me to pull from when describing places.

DeleteI think he is more mad at Sara than Minnow...I don't think he can be mad at Minnow for too long.
