It can only mean one thing . . . I have an "update" for you all. Well, it is not really an update but it is the first chapter in the IVB web serial. As far as web design and how I will format the chapters it is still a bit of a misnomer but, that is just cosmetic. I have added the web serials page to the original IVB website ( I just changed the layout) and I did not want to delete what was already there so, don't be confused by all the links. Reading the previous excerpts will not really add or take away anything.
I will probably construct a timeline later.
I am still working on finding the right layout as well but, the story is somewhat solid. Much of this is the plan for the story I promised in November *blush*.
I wanted this to originally be all Elias but, I remembered how much fun I had writing the other voices so, this will be much like Anne Brashares Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series and Life is Funny by ER Frank, drawing mostly from Frank's novel and her use of multiple perspectives. In retrospect it will be a bit of a mash of the two
I have a playlist and as usual the number of the song goes with the number after the chapter number. Some of the songs could be background music but, others are more thematic of the section. I have a feeling the playlists for IVB will be very diverse.
Also one more note, the second song might stop half way through, you may have to skip those 10 seconds or something but, it could just be my connection.
One more little Easter egg for you blog-readers. I do have a Rhett "one-shot" in mind, I even found a song for it (I just need a decent version) so, that may be coming soon also.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back. Elias has a great Voice and I liked how you reminded us of the basics but still kept it fresh.
At first I didn't know it I'd like this but I'm really interested, it's nice the way we are just inserted into the story, no lame set ups.

Aym -- Me too, I like that song also. There are a million different versions but, I liked this one the best.
Carliegh-- Nick is the only one who is gay. I have heard the "gay halloween" is crazier in NYC than the one in San Fran where i used to live so, I thought it would be a fun place to start.

Tabbi -- I'm not sure about black comedy but, the characters will be real people so, sometimes they aren't PC or they do irresponsible things or they may contradict themselves and because this is written in their voices they may say things in passing that you may not understand at first.
