Double Chapter Post !

 A Note To Lile
I know, I know I'm always bringing up Lile, but I've been using her NAF playlist to write to (to switch things up from my own) and my favorite song has to be Keri Hilson's The Way You Love me. Anyway I think this lyric in the rap also totally fits Lux Aerterna that goes "you look like an angel, but you sexy as hell"

P.S To the three men who may reading this that is not an acceptable pick up line. Unless you're Ryan Gosling.

Other than that I don't have much to blog about, so straight to the good stuff !

Double Chapter Post 16 & 17
Wow, when was the last time I had one of these ? Don't get too used to it...I'm only doing this one because one of these is a shortie.

Previously....Alan's finally seen his mother and she's warned him he can't come home, which forces Alan to complete his job of helping Sara take down Julian Walker. But before he can finish, he may just be caught...

  1. My brain hurts. . . I need more of this. Please ):

"You look like an angel, but you sexy as hell" - So that line is going in Bellum. I like that it drives attention from the fact that the song's chorus is F me Fme it's the way you F me.

    1. I can't wait to see it in Bellum ! I also can't wait for Bellum. Bellum is a thing you should show us. Like now. And How.

  2. I can't with this SH, you faked me out so hard. I'm not ready to say good-bye.

    1. I have no idea why I want to fake you guys out so much. It's a problem. I blame Encounters...remember that ?

  3. I was flashbacks to Minnie dying while reading this. I'm glad you couldn't do it this time around. I can't wait to jump back into this world.

    1. It just didn't fit. I'm excited to defintely expand the world in unplotted, unwritten sequel.

  4. I see what you did thar ! Is that double shot frappaciono ? This was a double shot to my heart. The Veritas call back was just amazing. I think I can maybe learn to live with the open ending. Maybe.

    1. The Frappacino represents what I needed to be able to pump out these last two chapters. I was orignally going to draw it all out longer and have all this peace summit stuff, but then I was like; let's get to the good stuff.

  5. WHAT THE F SH ? I HAD A HEART ATTACK ! How can this be the end ?

On the plus side I am hyped for HMLIS

    1. Speaking of which is SH avatar still BH ? Is that a hint for HMLIS

  6. I feel torn I love Minnie but I feel like Alan can do better. I did like that they ended the serial together.

    1. I think Alan can do better too, because he is a little more earnest about being in a relationship than Minnie probably is.

  7. Oh, DUH. I thought Cyril was a woman.

    1. Oh, really ? This name appears in Veritas at some point, I'm not sure if it is male or female...I assumed it was male.

  8. I just knew we weren't going to learn Alan's real name. So. . . would it be revealed in any sequel

    1. The question is does SH even know it ?

    2. In an effort to cut down on the fakeouts I will say no, I don't know it. But, maybe I'll figure it out at some point.

  9. This whole can only be filled with a link to the first chapter of HMLIS. It's the only option.

  10. You know, it's kind of messed up that they are celebrating starting a war. On the plus side they are celebrating more sequels to Vice.

    1. Yeah I get the feeling things can only get worse after this. Hmm... so is the Republic a military state since all the leaders have ranks ?

      Delete
    2. Yes, they are in a military state now.

Also, yeah this was one of the things I kind brushed under the rug, but they did essentially keep a war going. But, it was a war that was probably going to continue again anyway.

  11. Wait a second. . . we don't know who takes over for Julian. My bet ? ALAN'S Dad.

    1. Or Sgt. Maxwell . . . just sayin'

    2. They bring in an RLA general to take his place. You all caught that Sgt. Maxwell is in this, right ? He's Ken, the assistant who Alan almost shoots.

  12. I love Alan's Superhumans' jokes

    1. Oh, sounds like a spin-off . . .

    2. For some reason I thought this scene was in the last chapter, so I commented to someone saying I think when he says this it is funny but in that chapter he hadn't actually said it out loud yet. Glad no one caught that.

  13. How much do I love that Rayne and his wife dress the same. I'd love to hear more about how they met.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm liking these high percentages what the percentage of there being a third sequel ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Um, probably at this point like 5% ? Only because Veritas is only Veritas and a sequel with 2 companions. I mean, there could maybe be companions...I really don't know, but I have one more I want to write and that's all I know.

  15. I didn't care when Saint died in the first one, but I'm so glad he didn't die this time around. Is he at the post-job shin-dig ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He is. Saint is also a guard for Rayne sometimes, so he is probably just standing in the back watching over things....kind of like Alan is. Huh

  16. SQUEEEE ! Veritas SQUEE !

  17. I am totally going to need more of Sara and Luce's relationship, he seems so willing to help. I like their conflict.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I could write Sara and Luce all day I think, they have an interesting relationship for so many reasons

. But, let's be honest if you had a 13-year-old would you really let them help you kill people ? I mean at the end of the day, Luce is wrong and Sara is right; he doesn't have a place in her work.

  18. At the end of the day I actually enjoying reading first POV with a character who we want to trust but can't because we don't know their name. I'm glad it wasn't revealed, it adds a layer of mystery to Alan as a character.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well, this is interesting. We know a lot about Alan's perceived and actual past. I think it's interesting we feel like we need to know his name to fully know him.

  19. Yes, more Vice I like the sound of a Vice Saga. I can't imagine how Vice and Veritas could connect. Um. . . alternate dimension ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ooh, Alternate dimension (that make a hell of a lot less sense) has a nice ring to it.

  20. Will any parts of Mimic ever work their way into Vice's sequels ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ummm, let me think...a few parts will, but not much.

It's funny one of the things I kept thinking when writing about Alan being a fugitive android is that he won't be able to go to his Dad's funeral like in Mimic. I think I really have to start thinking of these as two separate worlds.

  21. " probably be doing a wrap up post, maybe a GIF post and then finally some HMLIS."

You know. . . this can all be one post. hint hint !

  22. I can't believe how corrupt the entire thing is. Why did Julian begin the border patrol ? Did he know what Cyril was going to do or did he do it for the right reason ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Julian didn't know what Cyril was going to do when he started the Border Patrol, but Julian was willing to forgive it for money.

  23. Oh, yeah Vice is the perfect Origin story for a Biomachine teen who works for a dangerous cartel. I can see the video game cover now.

    1. Want/Need ! And there is like a nuclear war in the background, and Sara and Minnow can be playable kickass female characters.

  24. I think they should have assassinated both Julian and Cyril, would it have changed the outcome ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I will explain in my next post why this didn't happen.

  25. This was just such an adventure, I'm sad to see it go. I think I'll miss the action and violence. . . is that bad ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, I'll kind of miss the high stakes, life or death, corruption scenarios that make up all of Vice.

  26. *pours one out* Misson Accomplished. I was so worried for a second that er'y body was going to jail.

    ReplyDelete
  27. My bad. . . I meant who takes over for Cyril ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh, okay I've actually thought about this and he gets impeached, but keeps his job because all he did was accept money from special interest. As for the whole killing a bunch of people well...that stuff is allowed during conflicts. I'm not saying people like him, but he gets to keep his job.

Also he has support from very influential people in the the big oil *ahem* *cough* I mean big tech business.

Did I just get political ? Sorry.

  28. *re-reads* KEN ?

    THAT WAS THAT GUY ?

That's right he was buddy buddy with a judge.

    1. Lol, That was THAT guy. C'mon I though I made it easy--- he stood taller than everything else in the room !

  29. So the question is how many companions could Vice have ? Not counting Flash Fiction. WANT/NEED MORE.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not counting flash fiction...probably one at this point. I mean I could get all mission of the week, but that requires the skills only DH has.

  30. Since Ken shows up in Veritas he HAS to be in Vice 2 with Alex. I mean this has to be a thing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. UH. . . you guys. I think Pretty Boy Cyborg was Alex Haley.

    1. Mind=blown

      We need Word of Goddess.

    2. He wasn't. I just wanted to give the tattoo artist as name.

Alex will show up with the same name in the sequel and a similar-ish backstory.

      *blushes* word of goddess *blushes*

  32. So . . . I think we can all agree that Fugitive Android is a great name for the next serial. Although has Alan actually committed a crime. Did he kill the intruder ? (I'm re-reading and Veritas and Vice are blending !)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm so glad you said this !

Alan kills the intruder in Veritas, but he doesn't in Vice. In Vice Sara does it.

I changed it because of reasons I'll get into but also because it made no sense for Alan to be a "hero" and kill a stranger for these people who kidnapped him.

      Delete
  33. Yes, I was wondering why Ken was getting so much attention. More percents. Percent of Ken showing up in V2

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. So, at this point in time I know how Alex will work into the story, but I haven't worked in Ken yet. It's all very fuzzy, but I'll keep you all updated on my progress, but I'm taking a month break from Vice world to work on HMLIS.
