First things first this is a novella. And not just any novella, but an AU-crackfic-noncannonical-vault-worthy novella.
21 Love
See that little heart in the corner ? That's the logo for 21 Love a romance imprint from my friend Olivia Jeffrey. She publishes love stories for the 21st century.
What does that mean about UL ? Nothing much
I have however agreed to let her include any other UL related novellas I may/may not write into her anthologies with the expectation that I own the online rights to the stories. To help cross promote 21Love I'm going to put this on her blog. She's not doing much with the blog, but if the right idea comes along, I could make a serial for that blog.

You probably want to know if there is more UL novellas planned. As of right now, I'm deep in Vice 2 so I don't have any UL things planned, but one day in the future I will finish and do something with the mess that was OHG. I have the perfect concept, but I need to figure out the execution.

I thought you were faking us out and going to reboot UL. This felt so ernest an endearing. Not crack!fic-ish at all, which is usually silly and outlandish.
Gifs were the only way I could explain my feeling about Bellum...I guess I have feels ?

I can certainly see how this was 21 century-fied. It made UL seem more modern and made Juliana seem more like an outsider

Sawyer doesn't want it to look like he is hours away from defecting. Eveything he does in the serial is to make everyone think he is 100% committed while he's been planning an escape for months.

That was my favorite scene to write...I think OHG will get back on it's feet some point in 2015...I'm having trouble concentrating on just Vice 2 so I may need something to jump to.

DeleteThe latter definitely. Love isn't just two straight people, it can mean maybe loving 3 people, loving the same gender, loving across race/nationality lines. But also I think familial and platonic love aren't given enough play either. 21 Love means bromances need stories too and most of it is fictional. I just think we need to redefine what a love story is, because it's more than Nicholas Sparks.
But also the second one because of online love, or MMPRG love.
I'm kind of mad at Sawyer for leaving, I mean he can't just tell her to run from everything she knows. He should have talked to her about it.

1. He sends a photo to Caine of them having a good time at the butterfly sanctuary

3. He works constantly to recruit new people and to keep busy so no one thinks he isn't committed. Hence his schedule.
4. He takes her to the butterfly sanctuary to see if she is appalled or fascinated by the idea of keeping the butterflies locked away instead of having them be free ($YMBOLI$M). She is indifferent though.
5. He reads her the UL doctines because he is trying to find something in them to convince him to stay.
Glad you found Rhett's number, I would have had to do some digging. Of course that just opens up more plot possibilities.

ReplyDeleteYes, I think Ethan has more drive than Cortland does. Cortland is going to get everything in life handed to him, while Ethan has to work if he wants to be a professional runner and while his Dad helps him get into college he can't help him succeed.
