This is still a oneshot meaning it is only this one piece but, it is pretty long. I will explain a little more later. Anyway this is the first of three one shots for Rose Garlands and Golden Stars. I have had an interesting time writing this because even though Rhett is originally supposed to be a mouth piece for Caine in UL he became more a full character and I feel like I'm not "making things up" for his character but like they were there all along.
And yes I really did try something in this so, it will be interesting to see how it follows through.

Hm, I was afraid this would be the last few chapter in Rhett's POV but I like the fragmentation of it, I never realized Rhett saw Caine beat her.

ReplyDeleteThe voice between Rhett and the members of IVB are so different I find it hard to believe it's the same person, yet there is always that hint of humor even in the toughest of situations.

Trichelle-- That was never my intention to write something from his POV that already occured in UL. I almost deleted somethings to get rid of the fragmentation but, I'm glad I didn't.
Biteme-- It wasn't hard just a challenge because I didn't want it to be to corny, I guess. I focused more on dialect than writing an accent.
Princess-- If ah did it woulda 'ave been too much wurk fur meh. Plus it looks off.

Morton_Flagg-- I giggle at this username. There will be a UL sequel that will go into this but, it's not big plot point. The marriage to Caine was not official.
RavenRed-- I had philosophy class in the morning and slept through most of it so, I actually had no idea about this ! It is interesting though, but for Rhett it was also about revenge for being fired.
Bluecharms-- I didn't not put her in this for any specfic reason but this is Rhett's story.
HappyApple-- Well, it could have been shorter,lol. Caine is supposed to be less evil in the begninning of this.
Danika-- No, he turned her down because when she commited suicide and he saved her, he actually touched her and talked to her later on and he saw her as a person like his mother or little sister.
Tina R.-- If you look at the images on the front page of the site you can kind of tell. You can also tell what will happen too.
CranberriVodka-- Pretty awesome seeing as it had no bullets. No, it is not the same gun he would have put it back so his mother would not have noticed.
WildeHorses-- I can honestly say that will have no affect on my writing. But, if you read chapters 9-12 how could you not be ?
Taragon -- I think it could but,you don't get the full impact. Caine calls Rhett Mr.Clark to show he has more status than the other TLs and is not just a number. I also realized Caine referred to Rhett as Mr.Clark to everyone except Julianna--who he was trying to keep in the dark.
"The Incident"- Another funny username. I don't think chasing cars was used, it must be one of those songs.
SunDANCE_girl-- What an interesting comment, I don't think you would have ever heard anything like this in 2006 (i.e pre-DWTS/SYTYCD)
ICU-- Not at all . . .
SockGames-- Sorry, it's called a oneshot for a reason but, I may do more from his POV in the UL sequel.
CAgirl-- I imagine she had some idea but wasn't sure and he never contacted her.
Marcia-- He didn't join the army because his mother didn't want him to. He goes to the Academy because it is college and a service opportunity for an excellent cost. More on this later.
Strawberry_Margarita ! -- You know that scene is actually based on something that occurred regularly in Jonestown. If someone did something even a little bit wrong they would bring people up on stage and beat them in front of an audience and no one said anything or thought it was wrong. They had husbands beating wives or sexually humiliating them, parents beating children because Jim Jones told them to. Honestly, if I did not know about this I would have never included the scene or even imagined it. It is just terrible.
